Pifco Christmas Light Set Lamps
Christmas lighting sets designed by Pifco used their own range of dedicated lamps or bulbs.
First Generation Sets
The earliest lighting sets had a wide range of larger-sized bulbs. Several sets had their own specific bulbs, but model numbers were regularly recycled making it difficult to determine a definitive list.

As a general-purpose lamp compatible with various sets by Pifco and other manufactures, type 264 remained on sale into the 1980s.
Second Generation
The more modern light sets of the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s used a small range of standard lamps. Most lamps had a screw-in 'E5' base and these were sometimes referred to as 'Liliput lamps'. During the 1980s, more modern bulbs with a push-in fitting were introduced along with a few specialist designs for certain sets.
As was typical for light sets of the era, bulbs were wired in series across the mains supply. For example, a set of 12 lights used 12 × 20 volt bulbs giving a total 240 volts in line with the typical household electricity supply.

Notes:
- Bulbs 242, 243 and 244 had their specifications revised to slightly lower voltages by the mid-1970s, presumably in line with the typical mains voltage becoming more tightly standardised around 240 volts and the demise of older regional 250 volt supplies.
- Suffixes were sometimes added to model numbers for these lamps. For example red-coloured bulbs of type 271 might be referred to as 271R, while fuse bulbs of type 242 might be referred to as 242F.
Later Additions
As with other manufacturers, the 1990s saw a wider range of new designs and modern electronic light sets. This led to a variety of additional lamp types being introduced to cater for the needs of these different sets.
